Paulina Porizkova has attracted a fierce social media response in recent months, after sharing photos of herself on Instagram and Twitter wearing a plunging, see-through top. In one post, she is seen lying nude on her bed with just a white cover-up covering her modesty, while her two dogs sit beside her bed. The caption accompanying the photo reads, “I finally get to do ME.”
In another post, Porizkova is pictured with her tresses neatly combed back and wearing opaque tights under a top that shows off most of her chest and arms. The caption reads, “Sure, sometimes I feel like sacrificing a part of myself.”
In July, Porizkova stood by her decisions to share the racy images. Speaking on the show “What Would You Do?” alongside CNN anchor Alisyn Camerota, Porizkova said, “First of all, I understand the power of the internet, and the power of social media, and everyone wants to get their message out, and everyone has to face it, how do we release it and how do we say to people, look, I need to look or I need to feel this way. It’s very difficult to say, but at the end of the day, everything is about yourself.”

Porizkova went on to defend her posts in August, while also slamming those who questioned whether she did it for attention. “Now a professional model for 30 years, I don’t need any attention,” she said on Instagram. “But of course, when life hands you something to speak about, or something to sing about, or something to dance about, sometimes you are obliged to. You’re not going to thank me, or thank the people who kindly supported your concern, but you will thank me, for when someone allows you to go after your dreams, when you feel that you are the unique voice to tell your truth, when you feel that you can say what you feel, who can say what they feel, when something in your life actually feels urgent, you will thank the people who encouraged you to say it.”
The reality star continued, “The reason I share these photos is for empowerment, empowerment of myself, empowerment of all of us when we choose to showcase ourselves openly, honestly, and unapologetically. I don’t want to appear on this show, and later in the week be asked how my TV story has affected my life and career, I don’t want to be questioned at a photo shoot, saying the shoot is the best I’ve ever been asked to do or posed in, because for me, this isn’t it. I did not get my walking shoes at the airport, and I didn’t show up the night before and ask a makeup artist if I was allowed to wear red lipstick.

“You know what, when I opened up my chest, I opened my heart. Some people agree, some people don’t, but the fact that we are all human and that we are all looking for that in others and in ourselves, I actually feel liberated. I am actually in complete control and I have no more secrets, let me tell you.”
